Mojave Valley License Plates

License plates became a real system in the late-July 2026 Mojave Valley update: a plate overhaul, 100+ variants, and a new RP location at the Mojave Department of Motor Vehicles on Ventura Dr. If you played before that patch, your old random plate is leftover flavor. This guide is how the new DMV trip works and when it is worth the cash.

Plates do not raise Drive-to-Earn. They do not stack with Cafe Job ticks. They are identity. Treat them like a house — buy after a daily driver exists.

Where to go

Pin Ventura Dr using the map guide. The DMV is an RP building, not a hidden setting buried only in Shop. Drive there with a car you already own. Starting a car in the DMV lot still uses S+F or LT + D-pad down from controls.

Bring cash. If the only money you have is an ANNIVERSARY code, spend it on a hatch from the car tier list first. A custom plate on an empty driveway is a joke at your expense.

What the overhaul added

• 9 new vehicles and 24+ unique trims (Yaris, McLaren P1, Cadillac, SLS AMG, 400Z Nismo, Mercedes 350/450, Suburban trims, and more).
• License plate customization with a large variant list.
• Daily objectives that sometimes include buy a vehicle and mileage.
• A new RP location: the DMV.

That means a smart session chains daily objectives with the DMV visit: buy the cheap car the objective wants, drive the miles on the way to Ventura Dr, plate it, then park at Peet’s.

How to pick a plate without looking lost

• Match the car’s role. A highway grinder can stay stock. A show car at a house carport can wear the loud variant.
• Avoid plates that impersonate staff or Plus+ tags. That is how you get reported in a 25-player server.
• California-style plates fit the Mojave, CA fiction. Joke plates are fine if your RP table agrees — official media even shows playful bumper stickers on a Fit in a carport.

If the DMV UI is missing, you are on an old server. Rejoin after the patch, same advice as redeeming codes.

Cost versus value

Think of plates as the last 5% of a car. The first 95% is drivetrain, fuel, and whether you can hold 57 mph on a highway without stalling. Players who plate a limited they cannot afford to repair will sell the car in their head and never recover the plate spend.

Roblox Plus+ does not list a plate discount. The +5% cash-purchase bonus on the official page may apply to some Shop buys; do not count on it for RP counter items until you see the receipt.

RP uses

The DMV exists so civilian scenes have a building. Pair it with:

• New-driver RP after Getting Started.
• Insurance / registration talk in community sessions.
• Police checks if you run Public Services — plate readability is the point of the overhaul.

If you never RP and only grind, skip this page until you are bored. Your Tucson does not need a vanity string to tick money.

Troubleshooting

Cannot find Ventura Dr. Update your mental map; the DMV is a July addition. Drive Sonora Vista’s edges and follow in-game road labels.

Plate did not save. Relog once. Data issues go to the communications server via Discord and the official group.

Want more cosmetics. That is a dealership trim problem, not a DMV problem. Cycle trims on the lot, then come back.

Plates are a victory lap. Take the lap after the commute works. Then get back on the highway.
